A tools session will be incorporated to the Brazilian Symposium on Software Components, Architectures and Reuse (SBCARS 2007) as a forum for interchange of experiences and solutions developed by universities, research centers and companies in the fields of software components, architectures and reuse and other related topics.

Topics of Interest

Authors are invited to submit tools describing automated solutions to topics in the following non-exaustive list:

  • Software components;
  • Software architectures;
  • Software reuse;
  • Related fields
Submission process

Papers describing tools should include, at least, the following topics:

1. The problem tackled by the tool;
2. its architecture;
3. at least one screenshot of the tool (if it applies)
4. descriptions of its core functionalities; and
5. a URL address on the Internet where the tool is available for use or for download.

Papers describing tools should not exceed 8 (eight) A4 pages (single column), including all pages, references and appendices.

Papers can be submitted in Portuguese or in English at https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/sbcars2007.

All papers must be submitted in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), readable by Adobe Acrobat Reader, or in PostScript (PS), readable by GhostView. All papers should follow the template available at the SBC site: http://www.sbc.org.br.

Authors are strongly recommended to place a copy of the tool available on the Internet during the period of evaluation of the papers. The evaluation process will take into account the quality and relevance of the tool, its documentation, the submitted paper and the possibility of a demonstration in the Tools Session.

Important dates

  • Submission deadline: July 2, 2007
  • Notification of acceptance: July 18th, 2007
Acceptance

The accepted papers on tools will be published in specific proceedings of the Tools Session.
