The reason that some crimes involving Bitcoin have gone unpunished is because governments and regulators are slow to catch on to new technology.
I cannot understand what weird "logic" is being used here. Bitcoin enthusiasts SCREAM that government and police are the real criminals. They say they love bitcoin because those evil entities cannot control or regulate it, because bitcoin can hide from their evil eyes and evade their evil power. They openly wish for governments to crumble and cops to fail, view criminal charges brought against their fellows as badges of honor, and design systems for the express purpose of violating laws and government policies. They SCREAM that the "Bitcoin Bank" must not submit to any laws of any country, and its accounts and transactions must remain, at any cost, anonymous, irreversible, un-blockable, and un-seizable. And then, when their adored fellow bitcoiners steal their bitcoins or trick them into scams, and walk away free with their loot... they blame the governments and cops for not intervening. ??? :P
