There has been so much good news,
But those news probably do not mean much to potential investors. And perhaps they shouldnt:
The New York hearings were generally very positive,
But they were just public hearings, by a random set of speakers. AFAIK the speeches do not represent the views of the authorities who will take decisions, if any. And NY State hearings are not relevant to Chinese investors. (Chinese exchanges Huobi and OKCoin apparently account for 3/4 of total exchange trade; perhaps more if one subtracts arbitrage trading. Since the big rally in mid-november, it is them who set the price, it seems.)
chinese exchanges opening / resuming activity
ONE chinese exchange (BTC-China) stated that they are again accepting bank deposits, like the Huobi and OKCoin have been doing all along. But they still appear to be practically dead; the little trade there may be only arbitrage trading. In any case, Chinese banks are still closed for the New Year holidays. Even if BTC-China takes off once the banks re-open, it is not obvious that one more exchange in China will attract new investors.
lots of new retailers accepting bitcoin,
Actually it is mostly businesses accepting payment in local currency through some payment processor that may use bitcoin. Good for bitcoin exposure and for those processors, but it is not quite the same thing as "retailers accepting bitcoins". And many of those businesses only accept payment via bitcoins from domestic customers -- which sort of defeats the main purpose of bitcoins. Anyway, payment processors and retailers in China have been forbidden to deal with or set prices in bitcoins.
new bitcoin ATMs going up, Australia,
Not clear yet how successful those ATMs will be. They probably will not be allowed in China.
FINCEN Guidance ruling positive for miners
Well, more miners probably means more Bitcoins entering the markets, which tends to lower their price. Otherwise, this news seems irrelevant to investors who are not US-based miners. In particular, to the Chinese investors.
