About Me

I got a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science (with Honors) at Institute of Computing, State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, on May 31st of 2016. My Ph.D. research was related to a machine learning fusion framework I created: the Multi-Analysis, and its applications to Digital Image Forensics. My research was advised by Dr. Anderson de Rezende Rocha (State University of Campinas-UNICAMP) and co-advised Dr. Jefersson Alex dos Santos (Federal University of Minas Gerais-UFMG) and Dr. Stefano Tubaro (Politecnico di Milano-POLIMI).

I acted as a Post-Doc researcher at the Key Laboratory of Media Security of Shenzhen University (SZU), China. I was supervised by Dr. Jiwu Huang and my research was related to using deep learning approaches in multimedia forensics and classification. I also worked as a PostDoc researcher at the Artificial Intelligence and Big Data laboratory at University of Cagliari in Cagliary, Italy. I was supervised by professors Salvatore Carta and Diego Reforgiato Recupero and my research was proposing time-series-to-image, deep learning and deep reinforcement learning solutions for financial applications.

Actually, I am an H2020 EU Marie Curie fellow at the Visual Information Processing and Protection Group from the University of Siena in Siena, Italy. I am supervised by professors Mauro Barni and Slava Voloshynovskiy in the European Union funded project PrintOut. In this project I research solutions based on Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Game and Information Theory for anti-counterfeiting applications.

I am a reviewer of several machine learning journals from IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francis and I also have served as reviewer for several IEEE conferences. I was awarded with the best dataset of the I IEEE Forensics Challenge (IFC), a research paper I co-authored was awarded as the best 2017 JVCI paper and my thesis was selected as the best 2016 PhD Thesis in Computer Science of my university. Finally, I was elected a member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society Information Forensics and Security Technical Committee for the period of January of 2021 to December of 2023.
