The 2025 edition of the World's Top 2% Scientists, a list of the world's most influential researchers, was released in late September. The initiative, organized by Stanford University (United States), is based on data compiled from Elsevier's Scival database—one of the most important international scientific publishers.

In the edition referring to global impact in 2024, the ranking highlighted five professors from the Institute of Computing (IC) at Unicamp among the 2% of most influential scientists in the world: Alexandre Xavier Falcão, Anderson de Rezende Rocha, Jacques Wainer, Luiz Fernando Bittencourt and Nelson Luís Saldanha Fonseca
Recognized as one of the most prestigious surveys of the impact of global scientific production, the World's Top 2% Scientists evaluates researchers according to rigorous criteria related to impact and number of citations, considering both their entire career and their performance in the last year.
This achievement reinforces the international relevance of the research developed at the IC and the ongoing commitment of its faculty to academic and scientific excellence.
