Members of the Institute of Computing community were awarded at the XXV (SBSeg)

Scientific initiation student Gabriela Martins Jacob, supervised by Prof. Hilder Vitor Lima Pereira, received the award for Best short article in the cryptography track, entitled Efficient Transciphering with Chacha20.

Professor Julio Hernández was the co-advisor of student VInícius Lagrota (UFJF) and co-author of the article A Quantum-Resistant Advanced Metering Infrastructure, which received the award for Best Complete Article in the Cryptography Track.

The Brazilian Cybersecurity Symposium (SBSeg) is a scientific event held annually by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) under the auspices of the SBC's Special Cybersecurity Committee (CESeg). It represents the country's main forum for the dissemination of research results, debates, exchange of ideas, and relevant activities related to information security and computer systems, integrating the Brazilian community of researchers and professionals working in this field. The event is classified as Qualis A4 by CAPES.
