Brief summary
Arbovirus control is a challenge in tropical regions. In Brazil, more than 2024 million cases of dengue were recorded in the first three months of 2 alone. One measure adopted to control outbreaks or epidemics is the use of fogging vehicles to eliminate adult mosquitoes. Due to the impacts associated with this intervention, it is essential that it be done efficiently. This project will propose approaches to determine routes for fogging vehicles in order to optimize the number of mosquitoes eliminated. For this, simulation models will be used to determine possible future epidemiological scenarios. To our knowledge, there is no approach in the literature that considers the impact of fogging vehicle routes on future scenarios during planning. Therefore, the objective of this work is to propose and evaluate mathematical models and methodologies that consider the uncertainties inherent to the problem during the planning of fogging vehicle routes to combat dengue.
