# Description:
#
#   Three concentric rings of text (units 程R1}, 程R2}, 程R3}, from
#   outside in), bounded by faint mechanically drawn circles. There is
#   an extra-wide gap at 09:00 in the middle ring.
#
#   Inside the innermost ring there is a bull-like animal, painted
#   red, eating from a manger. The animal has a long thin tail
#   terminated by a brush of hair, a conspicuous penis, lyre-shaped
#   horns flanked by short uncolored ears, thick uncolored lips and
#   salient nostrils. The manger is hemispherical, with thick rim and
#   short thin legs (possibly four of them; three are visible).
#
#   Below the animal is the word ``May'' in some Roman script. On the
#   ground, below the "y" of "may", there is a flattened "V" with
#   floppy arms. Above the animal's rump, level with the head, is a
#   faint sign resembling a capital Greek upsilon, with equal
#   semicircular arms.
#
#   Between the inner ring of text and the middle ring are 5 human
#   figures or "nymphs". Each is standing in a barrel, waist deep. The
#   barrels are undecorated. The top edge of each barrel (except the
#   one at 09:00) has a double outline, as if the wall were one inch
#   thick or so.
#   
#   All these five nymphs have the right hand inside the barrel,
#   except for the one at 02:00 (whose right hand is on her belly,
#   just above the barrel's edge).  They have short hair hidden
#   by round hats or hat-like hairdos, some of them resembling shower caps.
#
#   Between the middle ring and the outer ring are 10 human figures,
#   standing. The one at 02:30 has the right arm stretched back and
#   down; all the others have the right hand on their hips. The feet
#   are usually hidden by the text ring.  Some have long hair, and the 
#   one at 07;15 is wearing a hat or hat-like hairdo.
#
#   All nymphs but one are in 3/4 view, between frontal and facing
#   clockwise. The only exception is the outer one at 00:00, who is in
#   frontal view; she is smaller than the others, and may be
#   menstruating.
#
#   Every nymph is holding or pointing to a star.
#
#   There is a hole in the vellum at 09:15, just inside the middle
#   test ring and after the 09:00 nymph of the inner band. A small
#   star and the head of a sixth nymph (from f73r, inner band at
#   09:15) are visible through the hole. The left arm of the nymph at
#   08:30 has been drawn so that it seems to be holding the star from
#   f73r through the hole; while an extra arm has been added under and
#   after the hole, so that the nymph from f73r seems to be reaching
#   into this page, and holding the star at 09:30.

#   All the figures are naked, except the innerone at 08:45. Most have
#   visible breasts. Some have hats, some have long hair.
#
#   Clockwise from each figure there is a short label (text units
#   程S1} for the outer band and 程S2} for the inner band).
#
#   Rene [07 Apr 1999] observes that this folio is all curled up.
#   Also, that no color was applied to this page, except for the 
#   animal and the star centres (yellow).
#
#   The following table summarizes the nymph and star attributes. The
#   "brst" column says whether the figure has visible female breasts.
#   The "rays" column is the number of rays in each star; a "t" means
#   the star has a tail. The "hand" column gives the position of the
#   right hand; a hour figure measn that the right arm is stretched
#   towards that direction relative to the nymph.

#   The general appearance of the page is dark, in contrast to the
#   light Taurus, f71v.
#
#   The animal at the center is probably a bull, the astrological
#   symbol for Taurus. Taurus is April 20th to May 20th.
#
#   The flattened "V" below the word "may" resembles the red glyphs
#   on f1r.  It may be a coincidence --- the "V" could also be 
#   an attempt to represent stones on the ground.
#
#   The play with the nymph through the hole in the vellum
#   implies that at least some detail of this page (namely, the 
#   arm holding the star) was drawn or retouched after f73r was
#   in its current position.
