Shape Descriptors based on Segment Saliences

*Project Description* 

Segment Saliences (SS) is a  recently proposed shape descriptor. It is computed in two steps: first, 
the contour shape is divided into a predefined number s of segments of the same size, and, in the following, 
the internal and external influence areas of each segment are computed by summing up the influence areas of its 
corresponding pixels.

The objective of this project is to extend and evaluate this descriptors in new shape databases.
