In the endeavor of providing practical information on the design of learning technology that is explicitly concerned with the affective responses of children, we present our investigation on Design Principles. The principles that we present here are based on empirical data and, at the same time, supported by a priori knowledge. Practical application of the principles is explored in the analysis of two existing activities for children on the educational XO laptop from OLPC. } }
