       The work of Chen et al, on Quality of Service (QoS) of failure
       detectors, did not explicitly model the possibility of loss
       bursts. They assumed only mean loss as the system parameter to
       message losses. This paper deals with the QoS of failure
       detectors when the probabilistic behavior of messages is
       extended with the probability distribution of loss burst
       lengths. The proposed Markov chain model, which treats loss
       bursts, is presented in this paper. Some simulation results are
       commented.
