      This paper presents improved formulae  for computing repeated  
      doubling points  on  non-supersingular elliptic curves defined  
      over  finite fields of characteristic 2. These formulae, 
      in combination with variants of the sliding-window method, lead 
      to efficient  algorithms for computing a multiple of a point on  
      such elliptic curves. For many practical implementations  of the 
      finite field $GF(2^n)$, our formulae offer a computational advantage 
      over Guajardo and Paar's 1997 results.
