Short Biography
Hélio Pedrini received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, USA, in 2000. He received his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Campinas, Brazil, in 1994, and his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Campinas, Brazil, in 1986.
He is currently a professor in the Institute of Computing at the University of Campinas, Brazil. He was a visiting scholar in the Department of Computer Science at the University of California, Davis, USA, from September 2005 to August 2006.
He has served as a member of technical committee and reviewer for several conferences and journals. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC).
His research interests include image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, computational geometry, geometric modeling, computer graphics, scientific visualization, geographic information systems.
