ChkSim is a portable tool to simulate the execution of checkpointing algorithms in distributed applications. It provides quantitative data to system and algorithm designers, enabling the comparative assessment of these algorithms. Implemented in Java, ChkSim can be run in any platform that has a Java Virtual Machine available.
ChkSim is free software, licensed under the GNU GPL.
ChkSim is distributed in both pre-compiled binaries and source code. The binaries should be enough to almost everything you want to do, from executing simulations to creating new load generators and algorithms. Source code is also available, if you want to peek inside or do more extensive customizations.
Here are some simulation definition files. See the README for information on how to execute them.
