IVS - Interactive Volume Segmentation

IVS is an interactive 3D segmentation software tool built on the differential image foresting transform . IVS allows segmentation and visualization of volumetric MRI (150+ slices) in a matter or minutes on a common low-end PC with no specialized hardware.

IVS has been developed by Felipe P.G. Bergo and Alexandre X. Falcão. A special version of IVS is available for free download, for educational and research use.

Requirements: A PC-compatible (i586 with MMX extensions, such as Pentium III, Pentium IV, Athlon, etc.) computer with at least 256 MB of RAM and a Linux-based operating system (e.g.: Red Hat Linux, Slackware Linux, etc.). Installation may require super-user privileges.

The quick guide (available for download, below) has directions on using the software and further details about the hardware and software requirements. It also contains the basic bibliographic references for those interested on the theoretical background.
